HA MIM. H'â, Mîm.
تَنْزِيلُ الْكِتَابِ مِنَ اللَّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَكِيمِ (2)
The revelation of this Book is from God, the mighty and all-wise. La révélation du Livre émane d'Allah, le Puissant, le Sage.
إِنَّ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ لَآيَاتٍ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ (3)
Indeed there are signs for believers in the heavens and the earth. Il y a certes dans les cieux et la terre des preuves pour les croyants.
وَفِي خَلْقِكُمْ وَمَا يَبُثُّ مِنْ دَابَّةٍ آيَاتٌ لِقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ (4)
In creating you and spreading all the moving things (on earth) are signs for people firm of faith, Et dans votre propre création, et dans ce qu'Il dissémine comme animaux, il y a des signes pour des gens qui croient avec certitude.
وَاخْتِلَافِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ وَمَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مِنْ رِزْقٍ فَأَحْيَا بِهِ الْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا وَتَصْرِيفِ الرِّيَاحِ آيَاتٌ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ (5)
As there are signs in the alternation of night and day, and in rain that God sends with which He revives the earth once dead, as there are in the changing of the winds, for people who can understand. De même dans l'alternance de la nuit et du jour, et dans ce qu'Allah fait descendre du ciel comme subsistance [pluie] par laquelle Il redonne la vie à la terre une fois morte, et dans la distribution des vents, il y a des signes pour des gens qui raisonnent.
تِلْكَ آيَاتُ اللَّهِ نَتْلُوهَا عَلَيْكَ بِالْحَقِّ ۖ فَبِأَيِّ حَدِيثٍ بَعْدَ اللَّهِ وَآيَاتِهِ يُؤْمِنُونَ (6)
These are revelations of God which we recite to you correctly: In what other lore but God and His manifestations would they then believe? Voilà les versets d'Allah que Nous te récitons en toute vérité. Alors dans quelle parole croiront-ils après [la parole] d'Allah et après Ses signes?
وَيْلٌ لِكُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍ (7)
Alas the woe for every dissembling sinner Malheur à tout grand imposteur pécheur!
يَسْمَعُ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ يُصِرُّ مُسْتَكْبِرًا كَأَنْ لَمْ يَسْمَعْهَا ۖ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ (8)
Who hears the revelations of God being recited to him, yet persists in denying with arrogance as though he had never heard them! So warn him of a painful punishment. Il entend les versets d'Allah qu'on lui récite puis persiste dans son orgueil, comme s'il ne les avait jamais entendus. Annonce-lui donc un châtiment douloureux.
وَإِذَا عَلِمَ مِنْ آيَاتِنَا شَيْئًا اتَّخَذَهَا هُزُوًا ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُهِينٌ (9)
When he comes to know something of Our messages he makes fun of them: For them is shameful punishment. S'il a connaissance de quelques-uns de Nos versets, il les tourne en dérision. Ceux-là auront un châtiment avilissant:
مِنْ وَرَائِهِمْ جَهَنَّمُ ۖ وَلَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُمْ مَا كَسَبُوا شَيْئًا وَلَا مَا اتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ (10)
There is Hell before them; and whatever they have earned will not avail them in the least, nor those whom they take as friends apart from God. There is great chastisement for them. l'Enfer est à leurs trousses. Ce qu'ils auront acquis ne leur servira à rien, ni ce qu'ils auront pris comme protecteurs, en dehors d'Allah. Ils auront un énorme châtiment.
هَٰذَا هُدًى ۖ وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِآيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مِنْ رِجْزٍ أَلِيمٌ (11)
This is guidance. Those who deny the revelations of their Lord will suffer a dreadful doom. Ceci [le Coran] est un guide. Et ceux qui récusent les versets de leur Seigneur auront le supplice d'un châtiment douloureux.
اللَّهُ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَكُمُ الْبَحْرَ لِتَجْرِيَ الْفُلْكُ فِيهِ بِأَمْرِهِ وَلِتَبْتَغُوا مِنْ فَضْلِهِ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ (12)
It is God who subjugated the ocean for you so that ships may ply through it by His command, and you may seek His bounty, and may haply be grateful. Allah c'est Lui qui vous a assujetti la mer, afin que les vaisseaux y voguent, par Son ordre, et que vous alliez en quête de sa grâce afin que vous soyez reconnaissants.
وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمْ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا مِنْهُ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ (13)
He subjugated for you whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth, each and everything. Verily there are signs in this for those who reflect. Et Il vous a assujetti tout ce qui est dans les cieux et sur la terre, le tout venant de Lui. Il y a là des signes pour des gens qui réfléchissent.
قُلْ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يَغْفِرُوا لِلَّذِينَ لَا يَرْجُونَ أَيَّامَ اللَّهِ لِيَجْزِيَ قَوْمًا بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ (14)
Tell the believers to forgive those who do not fear the visitations of God, so that He may requite the people for their deeds. Dis à ceux qui ont cru de pardonner à ceux qui n'espèrent pas les jours d'Allah afin qu'Il rétribue [chaque] peuple pour les acquis qu'ils faisaient.
مَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَلِنَفْسِهِ ۖ وَمَنْ أَسَاءَ فَعَلَيْهَا ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ تُرْجَعُونَ (15)
He who does good does so for himself; and he who does evil suffers the consequence thereof. You have then to go back to your Lord. Quiconque fait le bien, le fait pour lui-même; et quiconque agit mal, agit contre lui-même. Puis vous serez ramenés vers votre Seigneur,
وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحُكْمَ وَالنُّبُوَّةَ وَرَزَقْنَاهُمْ مِنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَفَضَّلْنَاهُمْ عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ (16)
We gave the children of Israel the Book, and the judgement and the prophethood, provided them with good things, favoured them over other people, Nous avons effectivement apporté aux Enfants d'Israël le Livre, la sagesse, la prophétie, et leur avons attribué de bonnes choses, et les préférâmes aux autres humains [leurs contemporains];
وَآتَيْنَاهُمْ بَيِّنَاتٍ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ ۖ فَمَا اخْتَلَفُوا إِلَّا مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَهُمُ الْعِلْمُ بَغْيًا بَيْنَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقْضِي بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوا فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ (17)
And gave them a clear exposition of Our laws. And they did not differ until after knowledge came to them, through mutual jealousies. Verily your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Judgement in what they differed about. Et Nous leur avons apporté des preuves évidentes de l'Ordre. Ils ne divergèrent qu'après que la science leur fut venue par agressivité entre eux. Ton Seigneur décidera parmi eux, au Jour de la Résurrection, sur ce en quoi ils divergeaient.
ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَاكَ عَلَىٰ شَرِيعَةٍ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ فَاتَّبِعْهَا وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَاءَ الَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ (18)
We have put you on the right way in the matter (of divine law). So follow it, and do not follow the wishes of those who are ignorant. Puis Nous t'avons mis sur la voie de l'Ordre [une religion claire et parfaite]. Suis-la donc et ne suis pas les passions de ceux qui ne savent pas.
إِنَّهُمْ لَنْ يُغْنُوا عَنْكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا ۚ وَإِنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءُ بَعْضٍ ۖ وَاللَّهُ وَلِيُّ الْمُتَّقِينَ (19)
They will not avail you in the least against God. Surely the wicked are each other's friends, but God befriends those who fear and follow the right path. Ils ne te seront d'aucune utilité vis-à-vis d'Allah. Les injustes sont vraiment alliés les uns des autres; tandis qu'Allah est le Protecteur des pieux.
هَٰذَا بَصَائِرُ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ (20)
These are precepts of wisdom for men, and guidance and grace for people who believe with certainty. Ceci [le Coran] constitue pour les hommes une source de clarté, un guide et une miséricorde pour des gens qui croient avec certitude.
أَمْ حَسِبَ الَّذِينَ اجْتَرَحُوا السَّيِّئَاتِ أَنْ نَجْعَلَهُمْ كَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ سَوَاءً مَحْيَاهُمْ وَمَمَاتُهُمْ ۚ سَاءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ (21)
Do those who seek evil think that We shall make them equal in life and death to those who believe and do good? How bad is the judgement that they make! Ceux qui commettent des mauvaises actions comptent-ils que Nous allons les traiter comme ceux qui croient et accomplissent les bonnes œuvres, dans leur vie et dans leur mort? Comme ils jugent mal!
وَخَلَقَ اللَّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّ وَلِتُجْزَىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ (22)
God has created the heavens and the earth with reason, so that He may reward each soul in accordance with what it has done; and no wrong will be done to them. Et Allah a créé les cieux et la terre en toute vérité et afin que chaque âme soit rétribuée selon ce qu'elle a acquis. Ils ne seront cependant pas lésés.
أَفَرَأَيْتَ مَنِ اتَّخَذَ إِلَٰهَهُ هَوَاهُ وَأَضَلَّهُ اللَّهُ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ وَخَتَمَ عَلَىٰ سَمْعِهِ وَقَلْبِهِ وَجَعَلَ عَلَىٰ بَصَرِهِ غِشَاوَةً فَمَنْ يَهْدِيهِ مِنْ بَعْدِ اللَّهِ ۚ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ (23)
Just think: Who apart from God can show the way to him who deifies his ego into his god, whom God allows to go astray knowingly, and seals his ears and heart, and covers over his eyes with a veil? Why then do you not contemplate? Vois-tu celui qui prend sa passion pour sa propre divinité? Et Allah l'égare sciemment et scelle son ouïe et son cœur et étend un voile sur sa vue. Qui donc peut le guider après Allah? Ne vous rappelez-vous donc pas?
وَقَالُوا مَا هِيَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا الدُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا يُهْلِكُنَا إِلَّا الدَّهْرُ ۚ وَمَا لَهُمْ بِذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ ۖ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَظُنُّونَ (24)
Yet they say: "There is nothing but the life of this world. We die and we live, and only time annihilates us." Yet they have no knowledge of this: They only speculate. Et ils dirent: «Il n'y a pour nous que la vie d'ici-bas: nous mourons et nous vivons et seul le temps nous fait périr». Ils n'ont de cela aucune connaissance: ils ne font qu'émettre des conjectures.
وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُنَا بَيِّنَاتٍ مَا كَانَ حُجَّتَهُمْ إِلَّا أَنْ قَالُوا ائْتُوا بِآبَائِنَا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ (25)
When Our clear revelations are recited to them, their only argument is to say: "Bring our ancestors back, if what you say is true." Et quand on leur récite Nos versets bien clairs, leur seul argument est de dire: «Faites revenir nos ancêtres si vous êtes véridiques».
قُلِ اللَّهُ يُحْيِيكُمْ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يَجْمَعُكُمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ (26)
Say: "God, who gives you life and makes you die, will (raise the dead) then gather you (and your ancestors) together on the Day of Resurrection of which there is no doubt." And yet most men do not understand. Dis: «Allah vous donne la vie puis Il vous donne la mort. Ensuite Il vous réunira le Jour de la Résurrection, il n'y a pas de doute à ce sujet, mais la plupart des gens ne savent pas.
وَلِلَّهِ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَخْسَرُ الْمُبْطِلُونَ (27)
God's is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. The day the Hour is proclaimed the liars will be losers. A Allah appartient le royaume des cieux et de la terre. Et le jour où l'Heure arrivera, ce jour-là, les imposteurs seront perdus.
وَتَرَىٰ كُلَّ أُمَّةٍ جَاثِيَةً ۚ كُلُّ أُمَّةٍ تُدْعَىٰ إِلَىٰ كِتَابِهَا الْيَوْمَ تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ (28)
You will see each community kneeling down; and each community will be summoned to its ledger (of good and evil deeds). You will receive upon that day your recompense for what you had done. Et tu verras chaque communauté agenouillée. Chaque communauté sera appelée vers son livre. On vous rétribuera aujourd'hui selon ce que vous œuvriez.
هَٰذَا كِتَابُنَا يَنْطِقُ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْحَقِّ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا نَسْتَنْسِخُ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ (29)
This, Our record, will speak about you truthfully. We had everything you did recorded in it. Voilà Notre Livre. Il parle de vous en toute vérité car Nous enregistrions [tout] ce que vous faisiez».
فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ فَيُدْخِلُهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ فِي رَحْمَتِهِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْمُبِينُ (30)
So, those who believed and did good things will be admitted to His favour by their Lord. This will be a clear triumph. Ceux qui ont cru et fait de bonnes œuvres, leur Seigneur les fera entrer dans Sa miséricorde. Voilà le succès évident.
وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَفَلَمْ تَكُنْ آيَاتِي تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَاسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ وَكُنْتُمْ قَوْمًا مُجْرِمِينَ (31)
As for the infidels, (it will be said): "Were not My messages read out to you? But you behaved with self-conceit, and became a sinful people. Et quant à ceux qui ont mécru [il sera dit]: «Mes versets ne vous étaient-ils pas récités? Mais vous vous enfliez d'orgueil et vous étiez des gens criminels».
وَإِذَا قِيلَ إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ وَالسَّاعَةُ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهَا قُلْتُمْ مَا نَدْرِي مَا السَّاعَةُ إِنْ نَظُنُّ إِلَّا ظَنًّا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُسْتَيْقِنِينَ (32)
Whenever it was said: 'God's promise is certainly true, and there is no doubt about the Hour,' you replied: 'We know not what the Hour is. We have only a vague idea, but are not certain.' Et quand on disait: «La promesse d'Allah est vérité; et l'Heure n'est pas l'objet d'un doute», vous disiez: «Nous ne savons pas ce que c'est que l'Heure; et nous ne faisions à son sujet que de simples conjectures et nous ne sommes pas convaincus [qu'elle arrivera].
وَبَدَا لَهُمْ سَيِّئَاتُ مَا عَمِلُوا وَحَاقَ بِهِمْ مَا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ (33)
The evil of what they had done will become clear to them, and they will be seized by what they had scorned. Et leur apparaîtra [la laideur] de leurs mauvaises actions. Et ce dont ils se moquaient les cernera.
وَقِيلَ الْيَوْمَ نَنْسَاكُمْ كَمَا نَسِيتُمْ لِقَاءَ يَوْمِكُمْ هَٰذَا وَمَأْوَاكُمُ النَّارُ وَمَا لَكُمْ مِنْ نَاصِرِينَ (34)
"We shall ignore you today," they will be told, "as you had forgotten the meeting of this Day. Your dwelling place is Hell, and there is none to save you: Et on leur dira: «Aujourd'hui Nous vous oublions comme vous avez oublié la rencontre de votre jour que voici. Votre refuge est le Feu; et vous n'aurez point de secoureurs.
ذَٰلِكُمْ بِأَنَّكُمُ اتَّخَذْتُمْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ هُزُوًا وَغَرَّتْكُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا ۚ فَالْيَوْمَ لَا يُخْرَجُونَ مِنْهَا وَلَا هُمْ يُسْتَعْتَبُونَ (35)
This because you laughed at God's revelations and were taken in by the life of the world." So they will neither be taken out of it, nor will be asked to seek God's favour on that day. Cela parce que vous preniez en raillerie les versets d'Allah et que la vie d'ici-bas vous trompait». Ce jour-là on ne les en fera pas sortir et on ne les excusera pas non plus.
فَلِلَّهِ الْحَمْدُ رَبِّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَرَبِّ الْأَرْضِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ (36)
All praise be to God, Lord of the heavens, Lord of the earth, Lord of all the worlds. Louange à Allah, Seigneur des cieux et Seigneur de la terre: Seigneur de l'univers.
وَلَهُ الْكِبْرِيَاءُ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ (37)
His is the supremacy in the heavens and the earth; and He is the all-mighty and all-wise. Et à Lui la grandeur dans les cieux et la terre. Et c'est Lui le Puissant, le Sage.
