وَالْعَادِيَاتِ ضَبْحًا (1)
I CALL TO witness the chargers, snorting, rushing to battle before the others, Par les coursiers qui halètent,
فَالْمُورِيَاتِ قَدْحًا (2)
Then those striking sparks of fire, qui font jaillir des étincelles,
فَالْمُغِيرَاتِ صُبْحًا (3)
Then those charging in the morning qui attaquent au matin,
فَأَثَرْنَ بِهِ نَقْعًا (4)
Raising clouds of dust, et font ainsi voler la poussière,
فَوَسَطْنَ بِهِ جَمْعًا (5)
Penetrating deep into the armies, et pénètrent au centre de la troupe ennemie.
إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ لِرَبِّهِ لَكَنُودٌ (6)
That man is ungrateful to his Lord L'homme est, certes, ingrat envers son Seigneur;
وَإِنَّهُ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ لَشَهِيدٌ (7)
And is himself witness to it, et pourtant, il est certes, témoin de cela;
وَإِنَّهُ لِحُبِّ الْخَيْرِ لَشَدِيدٌ (8)
And is intractable in his love of worldly goods. et pour l'amour des richesses il est certes ardent.
أَفَلَا يَعْلَمُ إِذَا بُعْثِرَ مَا فِي الْقُبُورِ (9)
Does he not know when the contents of the graves are laid bare Ne sait-il donc pas que lorsque ce qui est dans les tombes sera bouleversé,
وَحُصِّلَ مَا فِي الصُّدُورِ (10)
And the secrets of the hearts exposed, et que sera dévoilé ce qui est dans les poitrines,
إِنَّ رَبَّهُمْ بِهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَخَبِيرٌ (11)
Surely their Lord will be aware of their (deeds). ce jour-là, certes, leur Seigneur sera Parfaitement Connaisseur d'eux?
